Poll: Ranking the ‘08 Dem Websites

And I’m keeping it to just the Democrats, so folks don’t just vote for their preferred candidate. Click on each one and thin-slice it.

Of the group, only Dodd has all the grassroots tools (blog, podcast, YouTube). Combined with the interface, I’d say Dodd has the Best.
Hillary has the best looking site from a color/design perspective, but lacks the interactivity that identifies a best site in 2007. Safe, no risk taking here…
Edwards site was comparable to Dodd’s with its blog. I didn’t care for the email interstitial ad that Edwards and Hillary are both using. What killed Edwards for me was that the site was not designed for any browser. Opera displayed Edwards site with text overflowing into photos; not so on Dodd’s. Browser compatibility was the tie breaker for me.
Obama is a minimalist. No blog, no podcast, and very little position text. I know more about him from tommorow’s newspaper than today’s website.
Vilsack is just scary. Red, white, and black - the worst colors from a design perspective. The big red V - wasn’t there a sci-fi series about aliens harvesting humans for food that had a large red V for a logo? I left without reading any of the homepage. Creepy…
