    First Good Move…

The thrice-married scandal-plagued Rudy Giuliani has hired Patrick Ruffini. Patrick’s about the best guy on the right when it comes to online outreach, but of course I wish he and the Giuliani campaign the same success politically he had working…

    Rudy Giuliani 08?…

Although not delcared yet, Rudy Giuliani is making all the moves to run for ‘08. One move I particularly like is apparently hiring Patrick Ruffini to run his web stuff. I really like Ruffini’s info. I really like the tone…

Congrats Patrick- Ive been following you on your blog for a few years now, and your insights are most enlightening. I know this is gonna be a great career opp for you personally, but im not sure Guiliani has national candidate potential- I think he scares too many conservatives away. Nonetheless, good luck, we’ll obviously be supporting him in the general election- and maybe you can drag him more “right”.

I had never come across your political blog until I read Cillizza’s article and followed the link here. After 15 minutes of browsing the site, I am thoroughly impressed and plan to stop by at least once a day (I have also given you a prominent link on my blog).

Good luck with Giuliani, and keep the juicy articles coming.

  3. Debbie Watson says:

The latest Zogby poll in Iowa shows that the people have Secretary of State Condi Rice on their minds as a presidential contender.

    Rudy 19%
    McCain 17%
    Newt 13%
    Condi 9%

Now since Zogby included NON-candidate Gingrich, it seems very fair to include the other NON-candidate Rice.

The New Hampshire poll shows stronger support for Condi Rice.
    McCain 26%
    Rudy 20%
    Condi 7%

For her to be in third place as a NON-candidate means that the independents/conservatives and GOP voters in New Hamsphire consider Secretary Rice as a viable contender.

Also, the Marist poll of December 2006 shows 45% of the people polled want her to run.

So, while she prepares to fly to Paris for an international conference, I think it is tremendous to see that people see her actions as trying to help our ONLY president. Strangely, with so many people trying to run for president now, I think the media needs to be reminded that we have a CURRENT president and he needs people to help him rather than undermining him. For that, I believe Secretary Rice has earned the support from the people who see her as our Prime Minister for Foreign Relations.

As a member of www.thinkcondi.net, I come to this website to find interesting news via the internet. I hope to find more data about Condi Rice. Thank you.

  4. Gabriel says:

Ahhh… That explains the post on polls.

But I am curious. I vote mostly Democrat but as a New Yorker I voted twice for Rudy and could easily vote for him as President. Rudy is basically a tough-on-crime Democrat and clearly no conservative. While I don’t doubt he’ll say the appropriate things people want to hear on judges and taxes the reality is that he’s much closer to Arnold and Bloomberg than he is to George Bush or Reagan. Is that what the GOP wants?

  5. Don Zimmerman says:

Patrick - You are a talented young man, and Rudy is damn shrewd to have you on board in an increasingly vital support area for any national campaign. I’d have to confess that he seems a little left of center for my taste, but I’m willing to be convinced. Best of luck in your upcoming endeavors.

  8. Amy says:

I saw Rudy speak at a trade show last year where he was the motivational speaker. It was a group that crossed political, age, gender, racial lines. He was a fantastic speaker but more than that, I was stunned to see the level of emotional reaction he evoked during the Q&A period. This is a man who clearly resonates strongly with the public. Both men AND women were in tears speaking with him. I’ve never seen anything like it. I wonder if it is because he is so strongly connected with the 9/11 experience that he brings people back in touch with their emotions concerning that time (which would be a good thing, as so many people have forgotten or become distracted). He gave a very pro-Israel, anti-terror, anti-Iran message.
He is a fantastic communicator, very sharp on his feet. An Obama/Guiliani debate? Bring it on!
This is a man I believe American can connect with.
You will be a great asset to his team.
    Good luck!
