Team Obama is on the verge of making voting for their guy a non-political, pop-culture phenomnenon. Supporting him is the “cool” thing to do.
-
Failing both, we could be facing a crisis in the party where the nominee lacks legitimacy in the opinion of the rank and file.

This video got 4M views. Obama will get 7M votes tonight.

I will let your spittle-laced, stream of consciousness invective stand as a parody of itself.
But at least get your premises straight: the one who said the Bush Administration was a “disaster” was my fellow guest, Professor Mayer, not me.

Mr. Ruffini: I heard you today on “To The Point”. You said the Bush “Presidency” [sic] was “a disaster for the Republican Party.” Well, perhaps. One can always hope.
I understand that today’s show covered purely political stuff (i.e., process). Hence I can understand your neglecting to acknowledge the OTHER disaster victims: The nation, and the world.
Need I review the list on his resume? I think not. Besides, I lost count a long, long time ago. I just wonder how and why you would have worked for the 2004 election (yes, election, not reelecton) of that specimen. As early as the 2000 CAMPAIGN, his shallowness and venality were as conspicuous as the H-O-L-L-Y-W-O-O-D sign.
He showed us even more — in a not-so-gradual striptease — once he usurped the Oval Office: His shameless mendacity, and his uncanny ability to complement his winning imbecility with the cunning, demagogic skullduggery of his inner circle of “advisers”. (They advised him in the same way a ventriloguist advises his dummy.) (And please, don’t bloviate about the “bad intelligence” that “misled” him, Congress, you and me. May your keyboard explode in your face if you try to float that shit-filled balloon in my direction.)
I’ll save you some time, and some callouses: No, I’m not a Dem. None of your business “what” I am . . . other than a despiser of guttersnipes. (FYI, I too detest McCain — not for his policy stands, but for his shameless embrace of that cretin whose 2000 campaign had “nothing to do with” the disgraceful South Carolina tactics against McCain.)
I’m sure your kind WOULD like to see a candidate who can carry forth the Reagan Legacy (demagoguery par excellence; the benighting of this once-great nation, via contempt for intellect; the trivialization of public service, via the myth that “government” is bad, and that government is nothing but an “It” or a “Them” arrayed against “Us.”) Sad to say, The Great Unwashed lap it up. [Another thing I’m not: A dreamy-eyed believer in the all-too-Common Man.]
Even Bush The Lesser could have carried the Reagan banner more successfully than he did, had he not been the sort who makes even Reagan appear bright indeed, in retrospect.
And you DIDN’T SEE THAT? Or didn’t care?
You worked for his election in 2000. My God. Well, you failed, but it didn’t matter, did it? Thanks a hell of a lot, asshole.
