I can’t help feeling though that the article misses the point. It describes the “past two Democratic administrations as trainwrecks” as a reason why an Obama Administration might fail. Hello?
On that logic wouldn’t a McCain Administration be terrible? Bush 41 had a terrible economy, and in the eyes of a majority of Americans Bush 43 Administration has been poor in a number of areas (foreign policy, the environment, and the economy to name a few). In addition, most wouldn’t describe the Clinton years as trainwrecks, hence Hillary’s appeal to many as a 3rd Clinton term (although the wheels are starting to come off that train now!)
What’s saddest, is that the public have proved Bloomberg right by picking two centrist, anti-partisan candidates in McCain & Obama. Now the right & left machines are taking sides & we’ll end up having the same bitter partisan fight that always seems to happen. The public don’t want it, they’re fed up with it.
