[04.23.03] Hot Button Issue Despite the new Movable Type interface, there does seem to be some slowness in the comments, and this has resulted in an unusually high number of duplicate comments. This is due both to the lackluster rebuilding regime in MT and the sluggishness of my server (which I'm planning on changing after the nasty incident that prompted the change — all hosting suggestions welcome).

If you're posting comments, I beg your patience: you don't need to press the "Post" button more than once. Your comments will get through. If you get some sort of hideous error page (which I don't think is the case), go back to your comments, copy them, and navigate your way 'round back to the entry page to see if it's actually posted. I'd like to feature comments more prominently in the site design, hence the emphasis on data quality — great though the temptation to spam my comments section may be.

If you have any feedback or insight on the problem, nonduplicate comments are welcomed.

I sent Ben to jatol.com (for hosting)...and he seems happy. Check with him for his experience so far, but I've got nothing but good things to say about Jatol.

They are fast, cheap, and reliable, but what really keeps impressing me is their customer service. They are smart, quick to respond, and friendly. Go to their message boards to see for yourself, although the "client only" boards really tell the tale. If you want to read through those to get a feel for responsiveness, send me an email and I'll give you my username and password for the forum to look around.
